Open Access Policy

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content, upholding the principle that making research freely accessible to the public fosters a greater global exchange of knowledge.

As an open-access journal, all its content is freely available to users and institutions without any charge. Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of the articles in this journal without needing prior permission from the publisher or the author. This policy aligns with the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).

Budapest Open Access Initiative

An ancient tradition of knowledge sharing and a modern technology—the internet—have come together to create an extraordinary public good. Scholars and scientists, motivated by inquiry and knowledge, have long shared their research outcomes without expectation of payment. The internet now provides the opportunity for the unrestricted, global distribution of peer-reviewed journal literature.

The Budapest Open Access Initiative defines “open access” as the free availability of scholarly literature on the public internet. This allows users to:

  • Read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, and link to the full texts.
  • Use articles for indexing or as data for lawful purposes, without financial or technical barriers.

Copyright in this domain serves only to ensure the integrity of authors' work and proper acknowledgment of their contributions.

While open access removes barriers for readers, it does involve costs for production. Research shows that open-access models are far more cost-effective than traditional publication methods, presenting a compelling case for adoption by universities, libraries, and other institutions.

The BOAI recommends two key strategies for achieving open access:

  1. Self-Archiving: Scholars deposit their refereed journal articles in open archives, enabling free access.
  2. Open-Access Journals: These journals ensure permanent open access to all articles, eliminating subscription fees and relying on alternative funding models.

The vision of BOAI is to accelerate research, enrich education, and create a unified intellectual landscape. The initiative encourages governments, organizations, and individuals to participate in removing access barriers and building a sustainable open-access system.
