Screening Plagiarism

Screening for Plagiarism

The E-PUBLISHER is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity. Plagiarism is a serious ethical breach that undermines the credibility of scholarly work, and it is the journal’s responsibility to ensure that all submitted manuscripts are original and free from any form of plagiarism. To achieve this, JHRSS implements a robust plagiarism screening process for all submitted manuscripts.

Plagiarism Screening Process
Initial Manuscript Screening

Upon submission, every manuscript is subjected to an initial plagiarism check using advanced plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin, iThenticate, or similar tools.
This check helps identify any overlap with previously published works, including articles, books, and other academic sources, as well as any instances of uncredited copying or improper citation.
The manuscript is also reviewed for any signs of self-plagiarism, where the author may reuse their own previous work without proper citation.
Threshold for Similarity

Manuscripts that exhibit a similarity index above a predefined threshold (e.g., 20%) are flagged for further review. This threshold may vary based on the type of content and the specific research field.
A flagged manuscript is then carefully examined by the editorial team to determine whether the detected similarities are the result of proper citation and referencing or whether they constitute plagiarism.
Manual Review of Plagiarism Detection Reports

After the plagiarism screening tool generates a report, the editorial team manually reviews the flagged sections to assess whether the similarities are due to common phrases, general knowledge, or whether they indicate inappropriate copying or lack of proper attribution.
The editorial team also assesses whether the author has cited the sources correctly or if additional citations are required.
Notification to Authors

If plagiarism or insufficient citation is detected, the authors are notified by the editorial team and asked to provide explanations or corrections. Depending on the severity, the authors may be required to revise the manuscript by properly citing the sources or by rewording sections to ensure originality.
Authors may be given an opportunity to resubmit the corrected version of the manuscript.
Consequences of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is found to be deliberate or extensive, the manuscript may be rejected outright, and the authors may be barred from submitting future works to the journal.
In cases of repeated offenses or severe plagiarism, the editorial board may report the incident to the authors' affiliated institutions or relevant academic bodies for further investigation.
Prevention and Education

E-PUBLISHER aims not only to detect plagiarism but also to educate authors about the importance of academic integrity and proper citation practices. The journal provides guidelines on how to correctly cite sources and avoid plagiarism.
The journal encourages authors to be mindful of intellectual property rights, including the proper acknowledgment of ideas, data, and text borrowed from other researchers.
Resources such as citation style guides, workshops, and plagiarism prevention tips may be offered to authors to promote academic honesty.
Maintaining Transparency and Academic Integrity
Open Access and Attribution: As an open-access journal, JHRSS ensures that all published articles are freely available for review by the global academic community. This transparency allows for greater accountability and the detection of any instances of plagiarism.
Regular Monitoring: The journal continues to monitor published content to ensure that no plagiarized material is included in the final version of articles. Any post-publication issues related to plagiarism will be investigated thoroughly, and appropriate actions will be taken if necessary.
Ethical Commitment
JIMS takes plagiarism seriously and is committed to fostering an ethical research environment. The journal’s plagiarism screening process is part of a broader effort to promote scholarly excellence, integrity, and trust within the academic community. By implementing rigorous plagiarism checks, JIMS helps uphold the credibility of its publications and contributes to the advancement of original, high-quality interdisciplinary research.

The E-PUBLISHER employs a comprehensive plagiarism screening process to ensure that all published works meet the highest standards of academic integrity.
